Third Party Sick Pay Reporting to SSA to End by 2015

Third-party sick pay reporting to the Social Security Administration is to end after tax year 2014, said John Tuzynski, chief of employment tax operations at the Internal Revenue Service.

The agency is developing a form that employers can use for filing in 2015, Tuzynski said. Sick pay is usually subject to Social Security, Medicare, and FUTA taxes.

IRS is seeking comments on the change from members of the payroll community.
